Here a long awaited update from us! The past few months have been very different than usual. Rob’s recovery, personnel transitions at the INMA office, Suzann who received medical treatment in the US and a new born baby for John and Jamie are just some of the details of life.

Currently we are very happy to let you know that our Vocational Training Center is slowly growing in its effort to serve the young men from the Palestinian Refugee Community. We just re-opened after the summer break and 8 students are already present. They will receive training in practical skills so they will be able to find some work more easy in a later ’season of life’. In the same time the Vocational Center serves as a community that cares for these kids, which they really need!

Minister of Health, Dr. Rida Said and Robert Pelgrim

INMA Foundation is also planning to perform a first eye surgery clinic in Damascus, Syria, in the coming days. From October 11-15 we will be there with a small team to start surgeries and to train local doctors in the techniques that we use. We trust that it will be a great experience for us all.

The Student Center in Hamra is opening up as well. Every day a large number of students from AUB and LAU campuses come to the youth center for friendships and relaxation. Bands, movies, a speaker, it’s all available at times in this wonderful place. Ahmed and Firas are doing a great job in running the place.

Our work in the southern area’s of Lebanon also continues. Sophie is very passionate about the renovation process of the village that she adopted and she is there at least a few times a week. When you come to Lebanon, make sure you pay a visit!!

The child-sponsorship program that we administer is also growing. Another school is added to our work. The school is way up in Northern Lebanon in a rather remote area. It is a wonderful way to serve the community there through this program and we thank Mission of Mercy for their great support and ongoing relationships.

Well, that was just some of the work that is happening, all to the Glory of God and for more understanding and relationships between people from different communities!

Due to the global financial situation we are rather under pressure to keep all the programs open. If you would like to be part of our ongoing efforts to serve the wonderful people of Lebanon, please do take a step and connect with us and do sponsor our work! It’s needed!

Thank you for your friendship,
